I think that is business suicide, mixing politics with your business. _________________ r.c. durston

Ronnie Barret, the guy that makes the 50 caliber rifles goverment snipers love so much after this being banned for civilians in CA did just that and he is still doing very well, he went as far as not making repairs or selling parts to any goverment outfit in CA.
It their business, in this particular cases seems no one gave them to them, they built them from the ground up so it is their choice. _________________ Is not what you say or even what you think, it is what you do that defines you... |

Mr. Buff made his decision today.
He decided not to sell anything to the California Government. Individuals outside of the government can still purchase from him.
In addition, he is offering a 5% discount to all Arizona customers. This discount is effective until he decides to discontinue it, whenever that may be.

Probably legal, although in CA there are lots of anti-discrimination laws so maybe not in CA. But in AZ I'm betting there are not as many.
Unless there is a specific state or fed law saying otherwise (like equal opportunity hiring laws), a private entity can discriminate as it chooses. The general constitutional prohibitions on discrimination only apply to state actors (governments). So, generally speaking, a private entity (company) can choose to serve (or not) whomever they choose.
Remember, I am not a lawyer. _________________ Leslie Burns

Well, I'm half Mexican and I just bought two alien bee heads.
It's actually quite refreshing to see someone with some backbone willing to stand up for their beliefs. Especially when they are willing to sacrifice income for it.
(for the record, I'm not well versed in the proposals...so I can't make a judgement to which side I'm on) _________________ I'm gonna sign your pitty on the runny kine. |

I am fully Mexican, and all that discrimination stinks much in a Nazi style. Probably related to white supremacy, which makes me feel ashamed of being white. One thing is for sure: you can't make or propose a better world based on prejudice or sowing seeds of hatred and rejection.
Let's face it: when the US economy is strong, all kind of illegal migration is tolerated to alleviate the urgent need for cheap workers, and when things go wrong those same workers are considered evil. They are people who risk their lives in their search for a job, and who are denied any rights nor respect.
Right now Mexico is in one of its worse crisis originated by a war financed by the US. Would you start a war in your neighbor's house and not expect any any broken window in your own? Prejudice is the starting mistake in this whole business, with its own consequences.
About Paul Buff attitude, it is part of democracy that anyone feels being the savior. I had two generations of White Lightning flashes and recently bought 4 Mettle (Chinese) 600 w/s flashes for $600 on eBay, and they work very well. So it may not be too far that Paul has to hire illegals to stand up against the competition. Maybe he will refuse to sell to Asian born people then. _________________ Adios!
