Well being a Saturday anyone who's got work is shooting a wedding. That's all that's left from what I can tell.

I'm still around Very Happy Picked up Red Bull and Pointe as regular clients. Also... teching with Mary Ellen Matthews on SNL bumper shoots weekly, which is a really fun gig.

Happy New Year y'all!

See, the "problem" with a truly pro photo forum is: there's not a lot of activity because we don't fall for the usual Canon vs. Nikon baiting; we don't need a lot of input on what tools to use to get the job done; we're not quick to share or ask for critiques of our work because we often know (painfully) where it's lacking :/

Speaking of which... here's some stuff I've been kicking around lately:

Just trying to keep the momentum going Very Happy

Yeah there's no shortage of that going on in multiple forums. Usually with the same cast of characters pounding on each other.

I post and read on a couple of them but would still like to see more going on here.

Your shots are interesting. I agree, keeping your form only comes with the camera in hand.

After the RG site went up in flames, I stopped posting on photo boards pretty much...

But, back in the day (2002 - 2005) there was much to talk about, digital was fairly new and with a pretty steep learning curve

But that meltdown was a product of RG wanting to moderate beyond what was reasonable, to protect his advertisers. Now he just writes highly biased reviews for them and gets gear for free. That was apparently always his goal and freedom of speech was a conflict.

The boards are pretty obvious camps these days but there is useful discussion and I continue to learn from them, and contribute, I hope.

The state of the business is not going to change any time soon, if at all. So I'd rather keep my enthusiasm high by learning from what others have success with. You can't get that by staying away.

I think he was a Boyscout. It's one of those skills where you earn a badge if the marshmallows are edible.

Speaking of scouting....

My son and I just made this

he's going for a design win over a speed win.

(edit) just placed second for design!
