i need to put my Epson 2200 and 1270 into a storage unit for three to four months. Any advice for this semi-long term non-use so I don;t come back to a couple of non usable clogged up printers ???

I just threw away seven 2200 last year. I got fed up with keeping them around, telling myself I was going to finally un clog them all.
Drain the inks out and flush the system with isoprol alcohol?
I wouldn't leave them in, that's for sure.

I guess I'll jut wrap it up tight with plastic and take my chances, I dont really know if I want to get involved with draining and purging etc....

You have put it back in the printer at some point in the future. Under certain circumstances the printer may tell you that a cartridge is empty when in reality it is not, or a printer may tell you a cartridge still has ink in it when it is really empty, and this all depends on how you removed the cartridge just before installing this one.

Well I got back to CA and hooked up the printer. after a few cleanings and a set of fresh inks (luckily I bought 134 assorted ink colors for $100 from a CL guy) it works fine... Very Happy
