I was wondering if anyone who has a linkedin profile and has built a large list of "connections" if it has made any real difference in your business.

Thanks for any responses.

I've got a pretty good linkedin roster. It has actually led to some work, not from people contacting me directly through it but I've contacted others through linkedin which has paid off. I think unlike FB and emailers it's still small enough and spam free enough that some folks read there linkedin emails.

So far it has been one of the few social media efforts that actually did work. I'm not sure where they are headed with LinkdIn for the future, but if it stays mostly professional it should still function well. There's actually little need to visit much, once you set-up your profile.

Yes, Linked In is a better site for connections. This site provide good connectivity for known as well as unknowns also.

LinkedIn is a very effective platform for connecting to other people in your market. It can help you search for leads, etc. Although in my case, I haven't had any major leap in my experience with LinkedIn, I'm perfectly sure that I would be able to use it greatly someday.
