http://www.agencyscoop.com

Anyone here using it? Thoughts on how to use it best? I was sent there by Bob Randall (some of you know him).

I also found Ian Summers and Zave Smith there.

There seems to be a lot of ad agency folks with accounts and a lot of big agencies have listings there too.

The site also works really well, technically speaking.

Anyway, here's my profile...

http://www.agencyscoop.com:80/BrooksAyola/

ugh... another online presence.

Um...this sounds pretty crappy (near the end of the T&Cs--even though it speaks to DESIGN I think it shows the intent of the site and should be avoided):

If your Design is selected for use by AgencyScoop.com, you acknowledge that you assign to AgencyScoop and its subsidiaries and affiliates (hereinafter collectively " AgencyScoop.com") the entire right, title, and interest in and to the copyright in your Design including the right to sue for past infringement and the right to further sublicense the Design, for its sole and exclusive use on and in connection with the Items. You also acknowledge that you waive all "moral" rights that you may have in and to your Design.

That seems to be something about a design contest, but I can't find anything on the site about contests like that... I sent them a message asking to clarify their terms on image uploads, and I referenced the "rights grab" language in the contest terms. I'll post the response as soon as I get it.

I'm on there as well. The biggest problem seems to be the speed of the site. It's sometimes unusable. But AFAIK their still in beta. Good concept overall to provide a forum to get in touch with ad folks.

Brooks, when I read about it here, I went there and joined. I put a few images there. I want to get as much exposure as I can.

That's odd... Did it give you a specific error message?

By the way, no reply from them yet.

Below is the short email exchange between me and Agency Scoop. It's not the most official sounding email I've ever gotten... I'm not sure what to think of it. :-)

-------------------------------------------------------

Subject: T&C's

I may have just missed it, but can you point me to the section of your terms that describe the details regarding the images we upload to our portfolios?

The rights grab in the "AgencyScoop.com Design Submission Legal Terms & Conditions" section scares me a lot and I want to make sure I'm safe to upload images that are not part of any contests.

Thanks.

Brooks Ayola

-------------------------------------------------------

Subject: RE: T&C's

I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I have been busy on a major site update.

I have adjusted the Terms & Conditions. This section is no longer part of it. There is no interest in using your uploaded photos. I hope that you feel comfortable uploading them now.

Thank you.

I did get signed up using Firefox, the site didn't seem to like Safari.
Wouldn't accept my email on sign-up.
Now that I'm signed up, Safari is no problem on the site.

Just another update on my email conversation with Jason from Agency Scoop... After the last email above, I sent him another...

--------------------------------------------------------
Thanks Jason.

A short sentence or two about that might be helpful in the Terms somewhere. I brought up you site in my photo business forums and although it resulted in a small crowd of people signing up, it also sparked a small discussion about the portion of the terms you have deleted. With all the recent bad press about Facebook and others over this very issue, it might be a good idea to be as forward as possible so people don't wonder what your intentions are.

I hope you don't mind that I'm posting your responses in the forum so people can be informed and join up.

Brooks Ayola

--------------------------------------------------------

I appreciate you posting regarding this issue. I understand your concern as a photographer. I am an art director myself and have concerns with this. I will add a line to the Ts&Cs.

Thanks.

Jason

Art, I had no problems with Safari, but I see you're all set now.

Hey Brooks, thanks for your request to become a "colleague" on AgencyScoop. I would like to extend an offer to all here to join me as a
friend or colleague as well. As slow as things are now, Scoop is another nice way to do some networking.
